Fourteen foundation members in a room at UNSW elect Dr Edgar Thomson as President, Dr Bruce Clifton, Vice-President & Dr Gordon Archer Secretary-Treasurer. All are NSWelshmen, so Dr Eric Shaw (QLD), Dr Jack Morris (VIC) & Dr M Kelly (TAS) are elected to Council. A draft constitution is adopted & a four guinea annual subscription is agreed for submission to the AGM. Medically or scientifically qualified practitioners with substantial (> 3 years) interest in transfusion are considered suitable for membership.
