After seven years of teleconferencing, ASBT purchases its first networked computer & laser printer to support & record all Society business. Ruth Lilian is appointed to the ASBT Secretariat. Creation of an ASBT Scientific Subcommittee (to advise on ASM topics, guidelines & educational material) is agreed.

The Australian & New Zealand Society of Blood Transfusion (ANZSBT) aims to engage with stakeholders in all areas of transfusion through communication, representation and advocacy.
