1)Room temp. test + AGT.

2)Room temp. test + bovine albumin addition as slide or tube direct agglutination test

1950’s Intravenous immunoglobulins (IVIGs) developed  are associated with severe reactions due to IgG aggregates. (Safe IVIg only became available in the 1980’s & IVIG production then becomes main driver of plasma collections across the blood sector.)

Late 1950’s see commercial screening cells introduced & antibody screening progressively added to pre-transfusion testing repertoire.

1960 Albrey & Simmons publish tile papain technique subsequently used by several laboratories in Australia.
