1956 Brittingham infuses himself with 50ml high titre, ‘leukoagglutinin’ plasma from aplastic anaemia patient & almost dies from TRALI.

1957 Haber et al describe use of ficin.

1957 Walsh & Ward’s 1st edition ‘A Guide to Blood Transfusion’ published.
